The Donaldson report is a consultation document. We would encourage everyone with an interest in the secure future of the Causeway hospital to respond to the proposals in the Donaldson report. This can be done easily using the site of the Patient and Client Council at http://www.patientclientcouncil.hscni.net where, by clicking on their blog, you can make comments.
Do you
- live in the Causeway hospital catchment area
- have a friend or loved one living in the Causeway hospital area
- have a second home in the area
- use a static or touring caravan in the area
- have a son or daughter attending the university and staying in the area
- attend the university and stay in the area
- visit the area for a day out or to attend a special event
- holiday in a B&B or hotel in the area?
If so and you believed that you should have prompt access to hospital services if you require them, then you need to speak out.

Causeway Hospital Campaign 
Causeway Maturnity Unit has four Consultant Obstetricians.
In the TYC Review it mentions that in 3-5 yrs ,the present Unit will possibly close.
It may then become a Midwifery led Unit. The result would be far fewer births at Causeway.
All Mothers with a history or presenting with complications of birth would be referred to Antrim or Altnagelvin.
A Midwifery Unit is only safe if it is close to a Consultant Unit.
